Today, being the last day, Camille and I worked the farm shift with Marc. We started out in the old barn, rinsing dishes, and then went around to all of the farm animals. We fed the chickens, pigs, cows, goats, sheep, and llamas and mucked around everywhere. Camille and I had the chance to drive the kubota which was really fun. We switched off driving it throughout the day. We loaded it and unloaded it wherever we went and we definitely had a blast. We also fed lettuce to the cows and they enjoyed their treat. Of course, my favorite part of today was going to Reiner and mucking in the rain as well as assisting Marc in medicating and tending to the horses. Lastly, we mucked out the front pigs area and I had the chance to ride one of the pigs. It lasted about one second because he was surprised haha. Today was fun. I am very tired.
Today's work day was the last time that I will ever work at Pasado's during externship. It was really bittersweet. I absolutely love it here. It's beautiful, it rains all of the time, it's quiet and quaint, everyone who works here loves animals, there is time to enjoy working out, and living on a budget isn't so bad. i have also learned so much since i've been here. But I do miss my very comfortable bed, family, friends, the ocean, and the sun. Though, I do love the rain more than the sun most of the time. I realized that the only reason I want to leave right now is because everyone else seems to and it's hard to think positively when others aren't where you are and you aren't where they are. Plus there was a little cabin fever. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent here and will miss all if the people as well as the fantastic animals.
