Today I worked in Dog Town with Diane. We started out with feeding each dog and then cleaning up their areas. This includes picking up any poop, cleaning up any messes like torn up blankets, replacing old water with clean water, and hosing down the outdoor area or mopping down the inside area. I also walked Lexi shortly so that she could get out for a little bit. lastly, we gave Nadia a bath to her rear. she does not have back legs and is incontinent so she needs her rear washed. Once we finished that, I took my lunch and came back to help check Rusty's blood glucose level which was really low at 69. We really want it to be at around 200 since his diabetes is so out of control. We fed him and two other dogs their mid-day meals and took Opie on a three mile walk. It felt good to get out and walk a while, all the while talking to Diane about college, careers in the animal world, her family, and other random things. Diane is pretty cool. We returned to Pasado's and took a volunteer up to the Huskies where she was introduced to them and we played a while. They are beautiful.
